Welcome to our website

WHS Spring Show
Originally started to allow head gardeners from the big houses to showcase their skills, the Society has managed to survive for 130 years in spite of huge changes in our gardening habits and is today committed to staging a Spring and a Summer show each year – all the time there is sufficient support. Our About page has more about us and our history and how to contact us.

With classes for Vegetables, Flowers, Fruit, Cookery, Floral Art, Handicrafts, Photographic, Novices, Schools and Children there is something for everyone at our annual Summer Flower Show. Our Spring Flower show has many classes for spring flowers, house plants plus floral art and cake baking.

If you'd like to try your hand then please visit our Downloads pages for the show shedules and our News and Guides pages for some great advice.  Entering is free.

Coach Trip

The society arranges a yearly coach trip, usually in the early autumn to a horticultural destination in the South East of England. Every other year this trip is to the headquarters of the RHS at Wisley, Surrey to which the society is affiliated.

Visit our Events page, and, nearer the time of the trip, our News page for more details.
